Trimming the Deadwood

I have some dolls in my collection, which I purchased on a whim or simply out of curiosity and have come to realise they really shouldn't be here. Not because there is anything wrong with them, I just don't want to build on them. I guess I'm finally beginning to refine my collection.

The dolls looking for a new home are:

Hearts for Hearts Lauryce

Wellie Wishers Willa

Wellie Wishers Kendall

Ruby Red Fashion Friends Eira (#91/150 Ltd.Ed.)

I already have the three Fashion Friends I want to keep, ones I feel happy about playing with. I'm not completely happy about keeping play dolls that I'm hesitant to sew/knit for and photograph.

  1. Chatting to hubby the other day about which to keep and which to sell, helped me make this decision. I have just ordered another Gotz Hannah doll from MDBF she's actually been around since 2016, but somehow I missed seeing her. I needed a brunette so I ordered Summertime Hannah. I'm also thinking if Gotz bring out a dark haired Happy Kidz doll, I may sell my Suri (African Hannah at the Ballet) as she has the Hannah body and I'd prefer another HK body. After that there will be no more additions to Gotz unless I sell one first. :)

    1. They are lovely dolls, but I really need to cull my collection, so I hope they find new homes soon. :)

  3. I could say that I'm only interested in keeping dolls that I sew/knit for, but I don't get a lot of sewing projects done, so I guess I'm interested in dolls that I like the look of. Still, it's always good to have a collection under control. Some Barbies are leaving here as soon as I get them up for sale, but a new Pullip is coming out that I have to own, and at least two more Rainbow High dolls will be coming here.

    1. I have decided after the dolls who are on their way arrive, no more purchases until these find new homes. I simply have to stop looking and get on with other things. Do you think you are over Barbie now, or just needing to move a few?
Sounds like the RH dolls have really captured your heart Barb. :)

    2. I'm not completely done with Barbie. I like how they look in dioramas, and I have some ones that came wearing Mattel-made antique styles, that I really enjoy having. There are just a group that aren't going to fit in my plans, so they need to go. Plus I am absolutely over Mattel at this point.

I really do like the Rainbow High dolls; their fashions caught my eye. I wasn't planning on getting another Pullip, but they are doing a collaboration with human-size Japanese fashion house Innocent World. I'm a sucker for Lolita dresses, so what was I going to do? :)

    3. From what I've seen around the blogs, you're not alone Barb, there seems to be quite a few who feel the same way about Mattel.
I didn't realise you were into Lolita fashion, I think the Japanese fashion scene is a particularly interesting one, it's so diverse and there is something for everyone. Have fun with your new dolls!
