Nicole Marschollek-Menzer
Nicole Marschollek was born in Rauenstein, near Sonneberg. Right from childhood she was fascinated by all the wonderful things that were manufactured in the local area: porcelain from Rauenstein, glass from Lauscha and toys from Sonneberg.
Having taught herself the basics of artistic theory, Nicole Marschollek studied at the former College of Toy Design and Mechanical Engineering in Sonneberg. She gained further experience working for a well-known doll-manufacturing company in Upper Franconia.
This opened the door to produce her own creations. Zwergnase executes her designs with great success. These dolls became so much in demand that within just a few years, Nicole's dolls became known throughout the world.
She has the wonderful gift of breathing life into her creations, a knack of making dolls appear childlike with a slightly melancholic expression, an ungainly posture, or an unexpected smile. Her creations are so utterly life-like, it's like they are designed to make friends with their owners.
