Project: The Jazz Club Bar (Part 2)

It took almost a week for the new paint to arrive from Queensland, and I couldn't wait to finish what I started. The bar looks a lot neater now it's painted on the inside and the top has been varnished and properly trimmed.

I wasn't sure about the doors below the shelves, at first I thought they should be silver like the old bar fridges, but when I painted them I didn't like the way the silver looked. After repainting them gold, I reverted back to silver, but a different one that had a more metallic look to it.

There were 10 red wine bottles in one of the packs so I decided I needed a rack to store them. Out came the paper, pen & ruler and another template was given to hubby to cut for me (don't know what I'd do without him).

Here the bar is completed with bottles and glasses, just as I imagined it.

  1. Holly seems to be a bit reluctant about her new job, but I know she will love it :). Bar looks so elegant with all the glasses and mirror behind it!

    1. Hahaha! I think she's just a tiny bit nervous Chiriann. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out despite the size not being what I intended.

  2. It looks great, although the bartender looks a little young. ;) We were talking about 30s films, and I think you couldn't go wrong with anything starring William Powell. I just watched Ladies' Man last night, where Powell was actually the bad guy. I enjoy his work in the Thin Man movies. Of course, nothing is in color, but there are lots of public and private places shown.

    1. Yes, she's very young but it could very well be the beginning of a whole new story. 😂 I'm pleased you enjoy the black and white movies as much as me Barb, though I haven't watched one for a while.
