The settee was made from a jewellery box (well it was actually a ring holder in the shape of a settee, which I purchased from AliExpress). It turned out much better than I thought it would.
To make the settee the right height, I cut a piece of wood to the same size as the settee base, glued it on before adding the trim and four jewellery box feet. Next I made a cushion for the seat, using gold brads for buttons, then some smaller cushions for the settee and chair,
It looks simply fantastic! I love the colours, and the trim is perfect! And I'm absolutely sure it's really comfy - with the cusions, you can even take a little afternoon nap :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Chiriann. I tried to make this set a little more luxurious than the one I recovered and will use it in an Art Deco room. I also made a mirror top table to go with it, but forgot to photograph it...still, you will see it later.
DeleteThey turned out so nicely! Great for furniture in a romantic comedy or film noir, if one is into period era films.
ReplyDeleteThank you Barb. I do like period films, but you have me wondering which romantic comedy or film noir were you thinking of 🤔.
DeleteI wasn't thinking of anything specific. I've been watching a lot of old movies on YouTube, and some of the sets are beautiful.
DeleteWell if you find any that you think might inspire me, please let me know. :)
DeleteI love it! These colors combination is absolutely perfect. And the trim looks great.
ReplyDeleteThank you Joanna, I'm happy with the way it looks now.
DeleteThis caught my eye! The chair and sofa look so amazing!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Niina. I am pleased with the way they turned out and now I just need to make a couple more pieces of furniture so I can finish decorating the Art Deco room.
